Choosing your car

Can I take a test drive?

Yes of course you can. You’ll need to book your test drive in advance of your visit, so do get in touch with us and provide a copy of your driving licence at the time of booking. This is to make sure that the car is ready for you and you’re not waiting around. Please bring your driving licence with you as well otherwise you won’t be able to take a test drive.

Does the car have service history?

All of our stock at AMT Specialist Cars has been serviced in accordance to the manufacturers recommendation so they will all have a full-service history in line with the manufacturer.

Delivery

Is delivery included?

Delivery isn’t included in the price but we do use a specialist independent delivery company that we can use to transport your car to your front door. You will need to discuss this with your sales specialist to confirm pricing. 

How soon can I get my car?

We want to ensure all cars advertised are ready to test drive. We aim to allow collection the very same day wherever possible and also to have all our cars pre-inspected before they are displayed. However, sometimes due to high turnover this will only be done once the order has been placed. If, for any reason we need more time to prepare your purchase, it would be a maximum of three working days to ensure your car is ready for hand over.

Can I specify a time for my vehicle to be delivered?

We try to accommodate all our customers’ needs with the use of a specialist independent delivery company.

The financials

What is the initial deposit?

At AMT our sales specialists offer many finance packages to give you flexible finance options. These start with nil deposits for those who are working on a budget.

Do you offer finance?

Yes, we offer a variety of different finance options and specialise in funding the types of car we sell. To find out more about the available finance options please visit our finance page or contact the branch.

Who provides funding for the car?

We use a panel of finance providers and choose the most appropriate provider for you based on your needs and the car you are purchasing.

Will you part exchange my car?

We can offer a part exchange service. Just complete our online form or alternatively speak to one of our sales specialists who will be able to help you.

Can I sell my current car to you?

Yes, you can. We are always interested in purchasing the type of stock we sell – high quality sports, prestige, performance, luxury and supercars. If your current car meets our criteria then we can buy it from you. For more information see the “sell” section of our website, or talk to a member of our sales team.

Can you settle the outstanding finance on my car?

Of course. And if you choose to sell your existing car to us, or to part exchange it, then we can settle the outstanding finance on your behalf and then we simply deduct that amount from the final balance.

Can I pay by credit card?

To secure the car for you, we are happy to take a credit card deposit of up £1,000. Then you just need to pay the balance, either by bank transfer or by visiting our showroom and paying via debit card.

Warranty and aftercare

Will the new car come with a warranty?

Cars will have warranty from the manufacturer where if the age of the car means that there is warranty remaining. When new, our cars will have had a minimum 3 year warranty, some may have been longer. Where the manufacturer’s warranty has expired we can provide you with a six-month warranty for your peace of mind, just ask a member of the team for details about our warranty packages.

Do you offer an extendable warranty?

Yes, we do. Most of our cars will still be under their manufacturer warranty but if you are buying a car that’s older than three years old, we can provide you with a six month warranty, with the option to extend that warranty for to up to three years. We partner with a company called Warrantywise to offer our warranty service.

Do you offer paint protection?

Yes, we offer an industry leading paint and fabric protection called Life Shine from Auto Glym. We understand that you want to bubble wrap your car and keep it in the very best condition which is why we offer our Auto Glym product as protection for your purchase. We also offer you £250 more for your part exchange on its return if paint and fabric protection has been applied.

Where is the nearest rail station / airport?

If you are going to get to us by rail or by plane, then do let us know as we’ll come and collect you from the train station or airport. It’s all part of the service! The Leeds showroom is situated 0.7km from Leeds train station, and Leeds Bradford Airport is only 6 miles, about 25 minutes away from us.
