Why lease the Nissan X-Trail?

The X-Trail is an attractive all-round SUV that showcases Nissan’s superior quality and competitive CO2 emissions. The new variants come packed with Intelligent Driving functionality, including park assist, emergency city parking and lane departure warning to suit safety-conscious drivers. But it’s not just families that will be interested in the X-Trail; the heavy-duty engine variants and responsive transmission are just as suited to spirited adventure-seekers. As Nissan are known for providing great value for money, you can rest assured that all models come with plenty of kit regardless of the spec. The Nissan X-Trail comes in four trim levels: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta and Tekna.

AMT's review

Performance and features

The latest X-Trail has been facelifted, with the front-end now incorporating Nissan’s recognisable v-motion grille and LED headlights. Under the car lies the latest Common Module Family (CMF) platform, with the new model measuring 76mm longer in the wheelbase and weighing 90kg less than its predecessor. All models in the range come fitted with Nissan’s ProPilot autonomous driving that controls the steering, acceleration and braking in heavy stop-start traffic. Drivers can also add Active Ride Control and Active Trace Control for enhanced comfort.

Drivers can choose between a 1.3-litre petrol engine or a 1.7-litre turbocharged diesel. The diesel produces 148bhp and when paired with a manual gearbox in two-wheel-drive, can accelerate the X-Trail from 0-62mph in 10.7 seconds. The 1.3-litre petrol variant produces 158bhp which results in a 0-62mph of 11.5 seconds and benefits from a quiet engine at lower revs. It comes exclusively with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with swift responsiveness. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard on diesel models, as well as an optional CVT automatic transmission that comes with four-wheel-drive.

Interior technology

Comfort is paramount, as all models have a height-adjustable driver’s seat and adjustable steering wheel. Lumbar support is also available with the Acenta trim and upwards, and the seats and dashboard are covered with plush soft-touch materials. Unlike other Nissans, the X-Trail doesn’t feature a touchscreen infotainment system across the range - only on N-Connecta or Tekna trims. The system features a 7-inch touchscreen, smartphone mirroring and sat nav, complemented with logical menus and high-resolution graphics.
